At a busy front desk, every extra minute spent searching for a file is a minute a patient spends waiting. NFC patient cards change the first interaction: instead of asking for a name and searching a register, staff tap the card and the record opens.
What the card should do
A patient card should identify the patient, open the correct record and work even when the card is lost. The strongest implementations use NFC as the primary path and a QR code as a fallback.
What to measure
- Time from arrival to record opened.
- Number of duplicate registrations created.
- Front-desk questions repeated at every visit.
The card is not the outcome. The outcome is a faster, calmer arrival and a record that is ready before the consultation starts.
